Going into 2012 I was already a believer in wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and what he brings to the table for the Chicago bears. However, his 2012 campaign was quickly put to a halt after breaking his wrist post week 6. Now, Alshon is a 6’3 220 lb. wide out with great speed for his size and is a great opposite side receiver to the already monstrous Brandon Marshall. Although his production was minor last season due to injury and getting adjusted to the Bears offensive scheme Jeffery looks to play a major role this upcoming season with the Bears with regards to more slide protection towards Marhsall and a offensive minded, and QB minded Head Coach Marc Trestman. With moves upgrading the Tight End position this year acquiring, Martellus Bennett, this can only also help Jeffery’s production as the offensive scheme becomes more QB driven and with other decent targets now defenses will need to scheme for not just 1 single option, which last season didn’t seem to be a problem anyway.
SAFF_Fantasy At 6’3 Jeffery is still an above average wide out with size and does have above average speed already letting him have the advantage just by lining up against small defensive backs. With a new offensive minded scheme across the entire franchise I think we may see and be hearing alot about the Bears in 2013, with Jeffery playing a major role.
